Welcome to “That’s A Wrap,” our player-by-player recap of the 2025-26 Indiana Hoosiers. Our second profile looks at IU junior wing Jasai Miles.

After a successful sophomore season at North Florida, Indiana landed Jasai Miles out of the transfer portal last April.

Miles, a 6-foot-6 wing from Miami, Florida, spent his first two college seasons playing for the Ospreys and showed improvement from his freshman to his sophomore season.

In the 2024-25 season, Miles averaged 15.4 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 31.6 minutes per game while shooting 42.5 percent from the field.

But the transition to the high-major level would prove challenging for Miles.

In IU’s August trip to Puerto Rico for three exhibition games, Miles averaged three points, four rebounds and an assist in 14.9 minutes. He shot just 25 percent from the field, 12.5 percent on 3s and 40 percent from the free-throw line.

Over the season’s first three games – wins against Alabama A&M, Marquette and Milwaukee – Miles averaged five points in 14.3 minutes per game.

That three-game stretch would be his most productive three games offensively of the season.

In IU’s next 17 games – Miles appeared in 11 of those contests – he scored one point total and attempted just five shots.

He got a shot at rotation minutes beginning with the Rutgers road game on January 23, with the team on a four-game losing streak.

After the Hoosiers beat the Scarlet Knights 82-59, they followed it up with a 72-67 win against Purdue on January 27 and Miles played arguably his best game of the season. In 15 minutes off the bench, he scored five points and added two rebounds and an assist.

The Florida native also played well in a 78-77 overtime win against Wisconsin on February 7. In a season-high 24 minutes, Miles had four points, five rebounds and a blocked shot while playing solid defense on John Blackwell for a good chunk of the afternoon.

Miles was solidly in the IU rotation over the season’s final 13 games, logging double-figure minutes seven times in that stretch.

While Miles was inefficient offensively – he shot 6-for-25 on 3s and 7-for-14 from the free-throw line – he rebounded well from his position and also did a solid job of using his length defensively. He still often struggled defensively, as he’s not an elite athlete, which made it tough to cover some of the league’s bigger, more athletic wings.

Overall, Indiana probably hoped for more from Miles when it signed him from the transfer portal last spring. He was viewed as a potential starter throughout the summer and the fall, but never rose above the eighth man in the rotation on a team that lacked a consistent scoring punch outside of Lamar Wilkerson and Tucker DeVries.

Bottom line: With the 2025-26 season over, Miles and Indiana will have a decision to make on his status for next season. The transfer portal allows players to move freely between schools across the sport, and Miles and the IU staff will have to figure out whether he can play a role on next season’s team. If he’s willing to accept a complementary role as the 9th or 10th man next season, it could make sense for him to return. If not, it won’t be a surprise if he moves on.

Quotable: “He’s doing a good job. His role continues to expand here. He’s coming in, giving us good energy. He gives us some length on the defensive end. He’s been trying to go to the glass. He had a big offensive rebound in there. I don’t think we converted on it, but he went and got a big play for us. He’s doing good things. That length and athleticism, ability to rebound, that’s something down the stretch we’re going to continue to use.” – Darian DeVries on Miles following IU’s win against Wisconsin at Assembly Hall.
