The Bella Twins Say WWE Return Feels Like ‘Groundhog Day’

During a recent interview with Access Hollywood, Brie Bella stated that returning to WWE at the 2026 Women’s Royal Rumble felt natural, like coming back home to the ring.

Brie joked that every time they step back into the ring, even after a long break, “it’s like Groundhog Day” as it feels like they never left.

While Brie returned to WWE this year, Nikki made her WWE in-ring return at the 2025 Women’s Royal Rumble.

You can check out some highlights from the interview below:

Brie on their WWE return: “My gosh, so good. It feels like home. Every time we step in, even though it’s been forever, But every time we step in, it’s like Groundhog Day. I’m like, wait, we just like did this, right?”

On the current WWE tag teams they want to face:

Brie: “Lash Legend and Nia Jax just won the tag team championship. So they’re right on the horizon for us. So we’re eyeing them up. ”

Nikki: “Eyeing them up. We got Bayley and Lyra. I’d like to run through a little bit.”

Brie: “The Kabuki Warriors.”

Nikki: “It’s the best because right now in WWE for the women’s era right now, it’s the best the tag division’s ever been. You have legitimate tag teams that people are invested in. So it’s like the best time to come back. Cause it’s not like people are just being thrown together. These women have created great stories, a great foundation. So we’re like, Oh geez, gotta come.”

On their children’s reaction to their WWE return:

Brie: “Yes, which is amazing because I swear boys are wrestlers in the making, and then Birdie, she’s been to some, but she’s never really remembered what we did. So now they’re gonna, I feel like it will actually like stay in their memory.”

“Well, it was funny because when they saw us doing that promo you just saw, and I was like, I’m finally home. My kids were like, wait, no, she’s not. She’s not home. They’re really worried that all of a sudden I was gonna be staying the night at WWE forever.”

Nikki: “Honestly, and my son does not like to see me get hit. He doesn’t mind watching the other female wrestlers, but then when it comes to mommy, he’s like, ‘no, you can’t wrestle. You’re not allowed to wrestle.’”
