The Crucial Role of the Lower Body

The Crucial Role of the Lower Body

The lower body doesn’t work independently. It reacts.

When the sequence is correct, the lower body naturally
becomes the engine that drives the pitch.

Lower body engagement is the result of proper timing between
the glove hand, torso rotation, and ball release.

The Glove Hand Starts the Chain

The glove hand plays a critical role in initiating the
motion.

When the glove hand turns over correctly, it initiates torso
rotation, creates separation between the upper and lower body, and stabilizes
the upper body

This movement sets the timing that allows the rest of the
body to respond.

When the glove hand works correctly, the body begins
rotating in the proper order.

The Lower Body Becomes the Engine

Once the upper body begins rotating correctly, the hips
respond and the lower body now drives the motion.

Momentum generated by the hips transfers through the legs
and directs the pitch toward the target.

When the sequence is correct, energy flows through the body,
direction stays aligned, and the arm simply delivers the ball

The lower body becomes the engine that guides the ball to
the catcher’s glove.

That’s “Sequence Over Strength.”
