Many people have asked me what inspired me to create Drive and Flow and “Why a golf blog?”.
Let’s go back to the beginning…..I started playing golf around 2008. It was an outlet to get out of the club and bar scene. Around this time frame Tiger Woods was exposing the game to a whole new generation of golfers. It was those two events that led me to buying my first set of used clubs (a set of Calloway Big Bertha irons circa 2000).
I had no idea of what I was doing…let alone know what clubs did what! A good friend of mine had already been exposed to the game, so he got me up to speed on how to play.
Between kicking it with him and playing rounds with my wife’s boss at the time, we got a lot of time in at Highland Park Golf Course in Birmingham.
As time went on the golf course would become my outlet for stress and it would also become my place to think. I have always been a person of thought and a student of intelligent discourse.
Some of my best ideas have come to me when I am at the range. So I began to ask myself “What would it look like if there was a paradigm where thought and golf could come together?”
So that sparked the beginning of Drive and Flow Golf Lifestyle.
Drive and Flow is what I like to call a “niche” fit in the world of golf! It was an idea that I knew would not fit any brand that is already in existence.
Who knows where Drive and Flow will go from here….it was and is still just an idea that leaves room for growth!
Stay tuned for more Drive and Flow entries!
