This season has been an absolute disaster for the Los Angeles Clippers.
The Los Angeles Clippers came into this season with high expectations and were supposed to be fighting for a playoff spot.
Instead, the Clippers are now fighting to avoid being dead last in the Western Conference.
The Clippers have lost 5 games in a row after their latest loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder, who they owe their 2026 first-round pick to next year.
The Los Angeles Clippers are in the worst position in the NBA
It doesn’t seem like anything will save the Clippers at this point. Despite their struggles, the Clippers don’t seem open to trading their top stars.
Is the Paul George for Shai Gilgeous-Alexander trade the worst trade ever?
The Clippers’ season has gone from bad to worse since parting ways with Chris Paul during the middle of the night.
The Clippers only have 1 victory in their last 11 games. They have the second-worst record in the West and the third-worst record in the entire NBA.
To make matters worse, the Clippers do not have control of their own first-round draft picks until 2030 due to previous trades.
Therefore, if the Clippers end up getting a top-3 pick in next year’s draft, it would go straight to the Thunder dating back to the Shai Gilgeous-Alexander for Paul George trade.

The Los Angeles Clippers must start over
With this season being a wash, the Clippers must blow it up and trade their remaining top players.
The Clippers should offload Kawhi Leonard, James Harden and Ivica Zubac to try to replenish some first-round draft capital over the next few seasons.

The Clippers have strategically positioned themselves to have a clean salary cap sheet for the summer of 2027 when big-name free agents will become available.
Therefore, Los Angeles must cut their losses now and start rebuilding their future by getting assets back through multiple trades before the deadline.
