For a +£100 upcharge, Fairlight Cycles will paint your Secan frame in this specialty “Root Beer” finish. Let’s check out what makes this wet paint so special…

This isn’t your standard mixed-in-a-can root beer paint, popularized in the 1990s by Italian framebuilders. This comes from the hot rod world and is an extremely high-end paint and application process. The final product includes a staggering 10 layers of hand-sprayed wet paint.
In between each phase, the entire frame is wiped with an Emery cloth between every layer. This results in eye-catching sparkle from every angle. The iridescent crystals catch the light, creating a true flip-paint effect. Root Beer will shift from cherry, to copper/bronze, to a warm yellow glow. It’s a mystical moodboard inspired by custom hot rods and meant to stop people in their tracks.

Fairlight currently offers Root Beer on the Secan model only. Frames and full builds available from late April. Check out the flip book and more at Fairlight.
P.S., who noticed that slick Fairlight x Bentley Components prototype rack? Wow!
