Bike Mechanic

Recyke y’Bike is a charity based in the North East, specialising in taking donated bikes and refurbishing them for sale or to give away to community members in need. We also offer customer servicing and repairs, mechanics training and outreach programmes across the North East.  In a really exciting time to join the organisation, we have just launched a complete rebrand, including a new website and launched our new strategy up to 2028.

We operate 2 shops in Byker and Chester-le-Street. We are currently recruiting for a full-time (or two part-time) mechanic to work in the Chester le Street shop. You will work 35 hours a week, with the shop being open to the public 0900-1660 Tues-Thurs and 1000-1600 on Saturday. You may be asked to work some events outside of these hours occasionally.

You will deal with customers both sales and workshop providing excellent customer service, service and repair customer bikes to a high standard, refurbish and second check donated bikes for sale and to be given away, you will complete outreach projects both in store and off site such as bike maintenance training sessions, Dr Bike sessions and working with local schools and partners.

We operate with Citrus Lime till systems and workshop diaries. You will keep on top of communications internally and externally via phone, email and other digital platforms. You will be expected to work with the Shop Manager to assist with social media content creation and communications.

Head of Commercial

The Head of Commercial is a Senior Leadership role responsible for driving the commercial strategy and growth of tredz. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, this role leads the Buyers and Merchandisers, ensuring the right brands, products, pricing, and supplier relationships are in place to deliver profitable growth.

This role is critical to building and maintaining trusted supplier partnerships, identifying new opportunities, and translating market trends into commercial advantage. Reporting to the Managing Director, the Head of Commercial plays a central role in shaping business decisions and driving sustainable growth.

Key responsibilities for this role include commercial strategy & growth, leadership & team management, supplier relationship management, financial performance & reporting and operational Integration & continuous improvement.

Mobile Ebike / Cargo Mechanic

Zelo is one of the UKs leading support company for ebikes, family cargo bikes and business cargo bikes.  We work with the leading vendors that includes: VOK, EAV, Fernhay, CityQ, Urban Arrow and others.

As a mobile ebike / Cargo mechanic at Zelo (www.zelobike.co.uk), your responsibilities will include: Servicing and repairing cargo bikes such as EAVs, VOK, Urban Arrow, etc., at client sites across the London area. Providing hands-on repairs and servicing for e-bikes and bicycles in our shops and pop-up workshops. Dealing with customer queries and offering technical support. Maintaining flexibility in work location and adapting to varied conditions.

We are looking for a highly-skilled candidate who can demonstrate the following: Bicycle, e-bike, cargo mechanic skills. Some car/motorcycle mechanic experience. Excellent mechanical skills, patience, attention to detail, and time management. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Comfortable with riding e-cargo bikes in London. UK Driving licence. Availability to work on weekends and in varied conditions

Customer Service & Logistics Operative

Sold worldwide, our bicycles have gained widespread acclaim. They were ridden to victory in the 2017 and 2018 Transcontinental Races and the 2024 HT550. Our bikes have garnered many 5-star reviews, including the Road.cc “Bike of the Year” Award. We sell the best-designed and built bicycles in our market and we’re building a high-performing team to match our bikes.  We are continually growing and are looking for a new member to join our team.

This role will span two departments.  The primary focus is to ensure customers’ calls and emails are answered politely, comprehensively, and promptly. In short, you will be responsible for ensuring that our customers receive ‘best in class’ service just like our bikes! 

The secondary aspect of the role is to assist the warehouse & logistics team when required.  This will include, but is not limited to, picking parts, shipping customer orders, receiving goods in and restocking components.  The ability to schedule your time and communicate with both departments will be invaluable to succeed in this role.

Assistant Store Manager

The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in delivering the commercial, operational, and customer service goals of the Tredz flagship store. Acting as a key leader in the store, the Assistant Store Manager plays a central role in overseeing day-to-day operations, motivating the team, ensuring excellent customer experiences, and driving sales performance.

This position is also a critical support to the Store Manager in implementing business initiatives and stepping up in their absence.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience we are looking for include retail supervisory or management experience, ideally within a cycling or technical retail environment. Strong leadership presence with ability to support, coach, and motivate a team. High-level customer service and communication skills. Good understanding of store operations including stock, merchandising, and sales reporting. Comfortable working with KPIs and commercial objectives.
