The Indian team could not quite manage to stand against Australia as the hosts maintained their strong image in the pink-ball Tests at Adelaide Oval. After a 295-run victory against Australia in Perth, India crumbled to a 10-wicketloss in the second Test at the Adelaide Oval.
This loss has put the chance of India entering the world Test Championship (WTC) Finals. Indian captain Rohit Sharma did not bother to cut any words as he spoke to the reporters in the press conference after the end of second Test. Rohit accepted that batting was the factor which made the biggest difference between the two teams.
Rohit also regretted about the team’s inability to make use of opportunities at important intervals of the game as both the batters and bowlers struggled to challenge Australian players like they did in Perth.
“Disappointing week for us. We didn’t play well enough to win the game and Australia played better than us. There were times in the game where we could have grabbed those opportunities but we failed to do that and that has cost us the game,” said Rohit at the post-match presentation.
As the next Test as Brisbane is nearing in, Rohit Sharma is going to be eager to enter the n=match, especially since India has happy memories at Gabba.
