“There will be back channel talks…” Former Pakistani legend drops a massive bombshell on the ICC champions trophy

The uncertainty regarding the host of the Champions Trophy 2025 does not seem to end. Will it be in Pakistan, or a hybrid model be implemented, or will it be entirely moved out of Pakistan? These three questions have been on the lips of every cricket fan around the world of late. It began after the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Code of Conduct Injunction in the playable region ICC accused Indian National Cricket Team of travelling to territorial host Pakistan for the Champions surfaced Trophy.

Following that, the PCB have adopted a hard position that a hybrid model is off the table for them. Now, Pakistan cricketing legend Shoaib Akhtar has weighed in into the matter.

“There will be back channel talks. Even in days of war there are back channel talks. We should not lose hope. We have to look forward to a solution. We know the fact that 95-96 per cent of sponsorship for ICC comes from India,” said Shoaib Akhtar in an interview.

“It is clearly “Up to the governments” as the BCCI has nothing to do with it. This is the first time that Virat Kohli is set to play in the country of Pakistan. Therefore, Pakistan is yearning to watch Virat in the land of Pakistan. He turns into a twenty-twenty god in turning to hundreds in Pakistan and dotting a hundred on the soil. That will be the last leg for him to dream of India. Pakistan is branded as incapable of organizing global events such as a world cup. To hold this his tournament that is a champions trophy will offer a foundation for more significant events. I do not think they will do so. Keeping the fingers crossed. Wait till the last moment. and as of the present day, I perceive that India is coming to Pakistan.”

Outside, however, close sources of development have advised new agency IANS that it is expected that the ICC will be confirming and publishing the Schedule before the end of this week in respect of the already ongoing talks with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) concerning the issues raised by India
