It’s the first full weekend of March, and there is so much going on around LA this weekend.
You can cheer on thousands of runners as they embark on a 26.2 mile race through iconic parts of the city in the LA Marathon, meet multiple adoptable dogs at Barks & Brew at the LA Arboretum or hit one of the big music events happening in the city.

Festivals & Outdoor Events
Date: Saturday, March 7 – 7 am to 3:30 pm
Location: Burton Chace Park – 13650 Mindanao Way, Marina Del Rey, CA 90292
Head to the fifth annual Marina del Rey Dragon Boat Festival to watch exciting races between Dragon Boat teams of up to 20 paddlers. Each boat is about 40 feet long and has a signature dragon head at the front of the boat. This type of competition is deeply rooted in ancient Chinese culture.

Location: Starting Line – Dodger Stadium, Finish Line – Santa Monica Blvd, at the corner of Avenue of the Stars, in Century City
Cheer on runners as they race 26.2 miles through some of the most iconic landmarks in Los Angeles. Runners will start at Dodger Stadium and finish at the corner of Avenue of the Stars and Santa Monica Blvd. It will be an exciting and inspiring event for all spectators and a lifetime accomplishment for thousands of runners.

Location: Redondo Beach Pier – 100 Fisherman’s Wharf, Redondo Beach, CA 90277
The 52nd annual Festival of the Kite features kite flying contests, live music, DJ and fun competitions along the Redondo Beach Pier. It’s a beautiful celebration of the history of kite flying.

Family-Friendly Events
Date: Saturday, March 7 – 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Location: 301 North Baldwin Ave, Arcadia, CA 91007

This a fundraiser for Pasadena Humane and the Arboretum Foundation that is also an opportunity to spend a fun day with your dog and try some different foods and craft beers. And if you are looking to add another furry friend to your family, there will be adoptable dogs at the event.

The Autry Museum is hosting a screening of the 2011 animated Western adventure film, Rango! Before the screening, attendees can meet a variety of reptiles and amphibians similar to the ones in the movie, make arts & crafts and participate in the in-gallery scavenger hunt.

Studio Ghibli Flea Market
Date: Sunday, March 8 – noon to 5 p.m.
Location: Little Tokyo Galleria Mall (1st & 2nd Floor + Outdoor Area) – 333 S Alameda St, Los Angeles, CA 90013
A Studio Ghibli-themed flea market will be taking place in Little Tokyo this weekend. Explore and purchase Ghibli-inspired merchandise, art and more from more than 50 different vendors.

With the 98th Academy Award ceremony taking place next weekend, the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures is showing screenings of various Oscar nominees this weekend. This is an opportunity to get familiar with the nominees before the Oscar Awards are presented on March 15.

SoFi Stadium is hosting a unique wine tasting experiences with a selection of wines from The Hilt and The Paring. In addition to wine tasting, attendees will get a behind-the-scenes tour of SoFi Stadium.

Catch Excision on tour this weekend at the Kia Forum for a massive electronic music performance featuring multiple supporting artists. Excision is a Canadian DJ and producer who has also created big music festivals like Lost Lands and Bass Canyon.
