Mountain bike edits can all kind of feel the same, and it’s not every day that we see something like what Lazy Sundays Studios has been doing – and this latest release is pretty interesting. Jakob Jewitt is a professional Downhill racer for Giant Factory Offroad, making it impossible to deny his talent on the bike, but on top of that, he’s got an eye for cinema – and it’s on full presentation in “White Noise”.
“Jakob is not only one of the most naturally talented riders we know, but creatively, he brings a fresh, unique perspective and style to mountain bike media. Produced collaboratively, White Noise is a creative piece led by Jakob’s riding and editing skills.”
Lazy Sunday Studio
A collaboration between Jakob Jewett and Lazy Sunday Studios, but with a bit of a twist. Jewett isn’t just the subject here; he’s also the editor behind the cinematic structure of the video. As the rider, Jakob brings his creative direction to the forefront by splicing together the beautifully captured riding footage in a way that he wants to see it presented.
While this isn’t the first example of this we’ve seen, it is a really interesting one, because it’s rare to see someone with such a high pedigree of riding who is also able to cut together an edit that is so artistically produced. From the shot composition to the color grading and musical score, White Noise is well worth your time to watch and get inspired by.
