Three home-based stars earn Black Queens call-up for Pink Ladies Cup – Ghana Latest Football News, Live Scores, Results

Black Queens head coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren has rewarded three standout performers from the domestic league with places in Ghana’s squad for the upcoming Pink Ladies Cup in the United Arab Emirates.

The four-nation tournament, scheduled from February 28 to March 6, 2026, offers the Swedish trainer a timely platform to fine-tune his squad ahead of the next Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

With crucial continental assignments on the horizon, the technical team is keen to evaluate depth, cohesion and match readiness against varied opposition.

Among those retained is Samartex Ladies goalkeeper Cynthia Konlan, Ghana’s first-choice shot-stopper at the last WAFCON. Her experience and command between the posts are expected to provide stability as the team blends continuity with fresh energy.

Ampem Darkoa Ladies striker Ajegipina Zakaria earns her maiden senior call-up after a prolific domestic campaign. The forward currently leads the Women’s Premier League scoring chart with 12 goals, form that has been impossible to ignore.

She is joined by club teammate Diana Amoako, who also receives a first invitation. Amoako featured prominently for Ghana’s U20 side, starting both legs of their 3-2 aggregate victory over South Africa in the Women’s World Cup qualifiers.

Ghana will face Russia, Hong Kong and Tanzania in the friendly series before departing for the UAE in the coming days.
