Three-time world champion Duke McKenzie has weighed in on Tyson Fury’s upcoming return in April.
McKenzie claimed Fury needs a stoppage at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
He is set to take on Arslanbek Makhmudov, a former product of the Russian amateur boxing system.
After turning professional in 2017, ‘The Lion’ had an impressive run of 18 wins on the spin before getting a shot against now WBC interim champion Agit Kabayel.
Makhmudov came in as the favourite but was outclassed on the night before being stopped in the sixth.
McKenzie spoke to TalkSport about the fight.
“If Fury can’t take him out of there and look good doing it then he’s got no business being in a world title fight.

“A lot is going to depend on what he’s got left, ’cause no one is going to know until the bell goes. The perfect test.”
Makhmudov comes off a big win in the UK in October.
He headlined in Sheffield against fan favourite Dave Allen.
The Russian was the better man on the night as he guided his way to a unanimous points victory.
Fury recently spoke to Gareth A Davies from his training camp out in Thailand.
“If I can get back to what I was in my last few fights in ’24, then yeah, I’ll be able to beat all of these guys for sure. I am not that far away.”
‘The Gypsy King’ is a two-time heavyweight world champion and clearly has his sights set on a third world title.
One fight Fury has shown an interest in is with WBA heavyweight world champion Fabio Wardley.
Wardley became champion after his victory over friend of Fury Joseph Parker, who he stopped in the 11th round.
Fury revealed the motivations behind his return to the sport.
“I love this fight game,” he said on Instagram.
“It’s not for financial gain. I could have retired 10 years ago.
“I’ve made an absolute fortune. It’s not about the money, although I always want a good deal.
“It’s mainly about the love of the fight game and the sport.”
Another name that could be a possibility down the line is Oleksandr Usyk, who he has fought twice before.
‘The Cat’ recently spoke to Inside The Ring and revealed his plans for the last three fights of his career.
“Rico [Verhoeven], this is the first. Second, it is whoever wins Wardley or Dubois, and the third fight will be my friend ‘Greedy Belly’, Tyson Fury.”
