Tonight’s AEW Dynamite is in Sacramento, and the women’s division looks to put some gold on the line while also introducing a new force in the tag division.
The TBS Championship is on the line as the champion, Willow Nightingale, defends the title in a four-way match against Megan Bayne, Marina Shafir, and Mina Shirakawa. After successfully defending her tag team title in Sydney, Nightingale looks to continue to be a fighting and defending TBS champion tonight.
Bayne and Shafir looked to team up against Nightingale, but we all know how far that’s going to last in this bout. Nightingale takes it to all three competitors and delivers a flurry of spinebusters to show why she’s the champ.
Despite being former tag team partners, Bayne and Shafir trade blows on the outside. Shafir tries to kick her way through Bayne, but Bayne powers her up and takes her out with a powerbomb right through the timekeeper’s area.
With Shirakawa and Nightingale left in the ring, Shirakawa eats a hard spinning backfist, sending Nightingale to the floor. But, as Shirakawa attempts to lock in the Figure-Four, Nightingale rolls her up for the win and remains the TBS champion.
The Brawling Birds, Jamie Hayter and Alex Windsor, are set to make their tag team debut tonight. They are set to face off against Becca and Viva Van. Hayter and Windsor make quick work, and both end the match by Killing Two Birds with One Stone.
Renee Paquette is backstage with both the former AEW Women’s World Champion, Kris Statlander, and a returning Thunder Rosa. Statlander is out of action for a few weeks because of her match with Thekla last week. Despite that, Rosa is ready to get back in action and is ready for a fight with Thekla.
What did you think of tonight’s AEW Dynamite? Can The Brawling Birds secure more wins toward the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championships? What does Rosa have in store for Thekla and her crew? Let us know in the comments below!
