Tiger Woods involved in Florida car crash ahead of Masters

The PGA legend is believed to have come through the crash without any major injuries

Tiger Woods has been involved in a rollover car crash in Florida, with the golf legend believed to be unhurt.

The incident took place on Friday near Beach Road, according to local reports.

Emergency services responded to the scene, though the extent of any injuries sustained by the 50-year-old remains unclear at this stage.

The accident comes several years after Woods was seriously injured in a high-profile crash in California in 2021, when he suffered significant damage to his right leg after becoming trapped in the vehicle.

The latest incident follows his recent return to golf earlier this week, where he made a much-anticipated appearance at an event on Tuesday night.

Woods had been considering a competitive return at The Masters next month, although his physical condition has remained a major talking point in the media.

Speaking earlier this week about his recovery, Woods admitted his fitness continues to fluctuate following multiple procedures, including a seventh back surgery last October.

Asked about the Masters, he said: “This body … it doesn’t recover like it did when it was 24, 25. It doesn’t mean I’m not trying. I’ve had a couple bad injuries here over the past years that I’ve had to fight through and it’s taken some time. But I keep trying. I want to play.

“I’ve loved the Masters tournament, I’ve loved being there since I was 19 years old, so it’s meant a lot to me and my family over the years. I’m going to be there either way with The Loop [a short course he designed] that’s going up there, as well as the champions dinner.

“We’ll see how it goes. I’ll be practising, playing at home this week and keep trying to make progress.”
