The Texans advanced over the Steelers in the wild-card round of the playoffs to take on the Patriots at Gillette Stadium this Sunday at 3 p.m. ET.
The divisional-round playoff game will be broadcast on ESPN with Joe Buck and Troy Aikman on the call.
The Texans beat the Steelers 30-6 on Monday night in Pittsburgh through a dominant performance from their defense, allowing just 175 net yards with two defensive touchdowns.
The Steelers trailed 7-6 through the beginning of the fourth quarter before the Texans pulled away in the final 13 minutes. A Ka’imi Fairburn field goal made it 10-6 at the 13:07 mark in the fourth quarter. The Texans then scored on a 33-yard strip-sack fumble recovery on the Steelers’ ensuing drive. The Texans’ next offensive series ended with 13-yard touchdown run from Woody Marks. The Texans scored a final touchdown on a pick-six.
Texans QB C.J. Stroud was 21-of-32 for 250 yard with one touchdown, one interception and five fumbles (two lost).
The Patriots beat the Chargers at home with their own strong defensive effort to advance to the divisional round.
The Patriots have played the Texans twice in the divisional round, beating them during the 2012 and 2016 postseasons.
