TKR vs BR 28th Match Highlights: Another exciting game comes to an end with Knight Riders taking the edge over the Royals in the 28th match of CPL 2024 here at Trinidad City. Restricting the Royals the Trinbago Knight Riders made wonderful use of the conditions and dismantled the batting lineup of the Royals and took the game away from them completely.
After winning the toss Barbados Royals decided to bowl first and so did their move pay off as the top three of Knight Riders were sent back to the pavilion before the end of the powerplay. Pollard’s firey knock and Keacy Carty’s small innings helped the Knight Riders post 170-plus runs.

Hosein & Jordan’s three-wicket haul in the end made sure that Knight Riders were off the mark towards the victory. Even though Alick Athanaze and David Miller tried to push the innings for the Royals they failed to make an impact and thus Barbados Royals lost their fourth straight game.
Total Dominance from Trinbago Knight Riders
From the outset, Akeal Hosein exhibited his exceptional bowling skills, making an immediate impact by dismissing the Royals’ Alleyne in the very first over. He maintained his momentum by claiming the prized wicket of Quinton de Kock in his second over, significantly swinging the match in TKR’s favor.
While a partnership developed between Wickham and Athanaze, the runs came at a sluggish pace, hindering the Royals’ chances of a successful chase. The TKR spinners effectively controlled the run rate, ensuring that the Royals found it difficult to break free. Pressure began to mount on Wickham, who eventually succumbed, followed closely by Athanaze, further deepening the Royals’ struggles.
Though Salamkheil dropped David Miller on just two runs, it initially seemed that the missed chance would haunt TKR. Miller found his rhythm, launching several powerful strikes, but Hosein returned to claim his wicket, outsmarting the experienced batsman.
