Todd Monken Makes Intriguing Comparison For Harold Fannin Jr.

Cleveland Browns head coach Todd Monken is getting to know his players and the skills and potential they possess.

Writing on social media, Zac Jackson addressed a favorable comparison that Monken made about tight end Harold Fannin Jr.

Monken compared Fannin to Las Vegas Raiders star Brock Bowers, stating that Fannin has a similar kind of body, a strong skillset as a pass-catcher, and great athleticism.

“[Harold Fannin Jr.’s] a little like Brock Bowers in the fact that his body type is more of an H and F, run after catch more than length, more as a C gap blocking Y. So you love his athleticism, you like his ability to run after catch, his ball skills like Brock, very similar in that regard,” Monken said, per Zac Jackson.

These words from Monken suggest that Fannin will be a vital part of the Browns in 2026. At the same time, it also raises expectations for him. If his coach has so much faith in him, Fannin will get more opportunities, and he needs to make the most of them.

Last year, Fannin led the Browns in multiple ways, even as a rookie. He led with 72 receptions, 731 receiving yards, and six receiving touchdowns. That created quite a strong first impression. Still, the comparison to Bowers is remarkable and quite an honor, considering he set numerous records as a rookie tight end.

The Browns have big plans for the new year, and these words from Monken remind everyone that Fannin will be part of them. Still, Cleveland will try to keep adding more offensive help in the upcoming draft.

Monken has made some very kind public remarks about several of his players, but few have been as glowing as this one about Fannin.

That bodes very well for the young star’s future with the team, and 2026 could be an even bigger year for him.
