UFC heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall has taken a fiery dig at Ciryl Gane once again. Aspinall and Gane locked horns at UFC 321, and the Brit was poked in the eye by ‘Bon Gamin’ in Round 1 of the heavyweight contest.
Aspinall was unable to continue due to compromised vision, and hence the bout was declared a no-contest due to an accidental foul.
Since then, Aspinall has been on the sidelines. He had surgery on one eye, and the next surgery will happen in mid-January 2026. Recently, the Brit appeared in an interview with One on One MMA. During the sit-down, he said that when he makes his return, he plans to “beat the living daylights out of Ciryl Gane.”
“Obviously, the plan is to go back and beat the living daylights out of Ciryl Gane, but right now, the short-term plan is to get back to where I should be, to get back in the gym.”

Tom Aspinall says people switched on him after the UFC 321 eye poke situation
Tom Aspinall was previously unhappy with UFC CEO Dana White for the latter’s comments about Aspinall at the UFC 321 post-fight presser. The MMA community had mixed reactions to Aspinall’s eye injury. While some sympathized with his situation, others criticized him for openly discussing the injury and felt he went too far by taking subtle digs at Ciryl Gane over the eye poke.
In the same interview mentioned above, Aspinall discussed the situation and added that some people had turned against him after the eye poke incident.
“People turn on you really quick… Even if they’re your friend. Maybe the fact is that they’re not your friend. They’ll come out and say certain stuff when you have a relationship with them.”
