During a media conference call on Thursday, to promote this Sunday’s Revolution pay-per-view, AEW head Tony Khan was asked about the acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery by Paramount Skydance.
“There are tons of sports that exist on those platforms. I’d love to be on the same channel as UFC. I have a great relationship with Dana White and Hunter Campbell. While their sister promotion is also in pro wrestling and it’s of a competitive nature there, I think on my behalf I’d love to be on the same channel as UFC. I see a lot of positive utility for that.”
Paramount Skydance’s acquisition still has to be approved by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the Department of Justice (DOJ) Antitrust Division.
There has been speculation from TKO that the company would like to see UFC air on TNT, which has also been recently been stated by Paramount. UFC currently airs on Paramount on Saturday nights, which is the same night as Collision on TNT and HBO Max.
