All these players are magnificent hard-hitters who barely took any time in completing their Test centuries
1. Brendon McCullum (New Zealand) – 54 balls
McCullum took his revenge for the 2015 ODI World Cup final defeat handed to New Zealand by Australia. He absolutely dismantled the Aussie bowling attack while scoring his quick-fire century. He got dismissed by James Pattinson after scoring 145 runs off just 79 balls. His knock included 21 boundaries and 6 sixes.
2. Vivian Richards (West Indies) – 56 balls
Richards was the only player of his time who could play Test cricket like a limited-over format. The 56-ball century is one of the most monumental knocks of his career. He remained unbeaten on 110 runs off only 58 balls as West Indies declared the innings. His knock included 7 boundaries and sixes each.
3. Misbah-ul-Haq (Pakistan) – 56 balls
The Australian bowlers were taken to the cleaners in both the innings by Misbah as he went on to score a century in both the innings. His second inning century however, was a lot more impressive as the ton came in just 56 balls. He remained unbeaten on 101 off just 57 balls as Pakistan declared. This amazing knock included 11 boundaries and 5 sixes.
4. Adam Gilchrist (Australia) – 57 balls
After both Michael Hussey and Michael Clarke hit great tons, Gilchrist came in and decided to absolutely annihilate the England bowling attack. He remained unbeaten on 102 runs off only 59 balls as Australia declared on a mammoth total of 527/5. This incredible knock included 12 boundaries and 4 sixes.
5. Jack Gregory (Australia) – 67 balls
Back in the year 1921, Australian batter Jack Gregory scored a sensational ton against South Africa in just 70 minutes. He held the record for the fastest Test century for almost 65 years before Richards broke it in 1986. He was dismissed after scoring 119 runs and this dominating knock included 19 boundaries and 2 sixes.
