The Indian opening pair have so far turned out to be dominant against almost every team they have faced in the ongoing WTC cycle. Jaiswal and Rohit have so far started the Indian innings on 23 occasions in the ongoing cycle. The highest stand between them the duo was that of 229 runs.
2. Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett (England) – 1000 runs
The English opening pair have given the Three Lions some absolutely fantastic starts throughout this WTC cycle and have formed some spectacular partnerships. They have so far opened the innings for England on 26 occasions in the ongoing cycle and have formed 10 partnerships of over 50 runs, the highest being that of 91.
3. David Warner and Usman Khawaja (Australia) – 763 runs
The all left-handed opening pair of Warner and Khawaja have put up some great partnerships throughout the ongoing WTC cycle. The pair however, will not be able to form any more partnerships as Warner recently announced his retirement from all forms of cricket. The pair formed 2 stands of over 100 runs, the highest one being that of 140.
4. Kraigg Braithwaite and Mikyle Lewis (West Indies) – 303 runs
The West Indian batters have featured as an opening pair on 10 occasions in the ongoing WTC cycle and have scored runs at a great average of 30.30. Both Braithwaite and Lewis’ partnerships have incredible helped the Windies during crunch situations in several Test matches. Their highest partnership so far is that of 76 runs.
5. Nishantha Fernando and Dimuth Karunaratne (Sri Lanka) – 299 runs
The Sri Lankan batters have featured as an opening pair on 12 occasions in the ongoing WTC cycle and have managed to score a fairly decent amount of runs with their partnerships. They have scored runs at an average of 24.91. They have so far formed only 2 stands of over 50 runs with the highest one being that of 96.
