1. Murali Vijay and Shikhar Dhawan, 2015 – 283 runs

After choosing to bat first, India got off to a fantastic start thanks to the opening pair of Vijay and Dhawan. Both the batters went on to score fine centuries and take India over the 250-run mark. Dhawan got dismissed for 173 as the partnership between the two was broken on 283 runs. Thanks to this incredible stand India would go on to post a huge total of 462/6 before declaring.

2. Gautam Gambhir and Rahul Dravid, 2004 – 259 runs

After Virender Sehwag’s early dismissal, Gambhir and Dravid went on to form a stand for the ages. Both the batters played magnificent knocks to carry India over the 250-run mark. The partnership would be broken by Bangladesh’s Nazmul Hossain who dismissed Gambhir for 139 runs. Dravid would depart after scoring 160 as India posted a mammoth total of 540.

3. Rahul Dravid and Sachin Tendulkar, 2010 – 222 runs

After the opening pair of Gautam Gambhir and Virender Sehwag gave a strong start to India, the partnership between Dravid and Tendulkar took India’s total to even bigger heights as both the batters smacked centuries. Unfortunately, Dravid got injured mid-way through his innings and thus had to leave the pitch after scoring 111 runs. Tendulkar went on to score 143 as India posted a humongous total of 543/8 before declaring.

4. Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane, 2017 – 222 runs

Murali Vijay’s ton and Cheteshwar Pujara’s 83 set the tone for India before Kohli’s double-century and Rahane’s 82 absolutely decimated the Bangladesh bowling attack. The 222-run stand took India’s total over the 450-run mark before Rahane lost his wicket to Taijul Islam. Then, an unbeaten century from Wriddhiman Saha saw India cross the 600-run mark and declare on 687/6.

5. Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin, 2024 – 199 runs

With India looking in a spot of bother at 144/6, the duo of Jadeja and Ashwin took it upon themselves to carry the Men in Blue to a good-enough total. The 38-year-old Ashwin went on to score his sixth century in red-ball cricket while Jadeja also contributed well with his knock of 86 as India managed to post a total of 376 runs.
