Below are our Top 5 Pokemon Day 2026 Predictions. Some of these are more expected than others but we wanted to shoot for the stars with a few of them. We hope that you enjoy and if there are any other announcements you think could happen, let us know.
5. Ash Ketchum Returns
Yeah, that is right, we are starting off with a banger.
Depending on where you live, it will have been nearly four years since Ash and Pikachu were seen in the Anime. The Pokemon Company felt that it was time for him to leave the series. He was the Pokemon Master of the world but still was looking for new adventures. That last part is the most important, while we were saying goodbye, Ash’s ultimate fate was still left wide open as he literally ran off into the unknown.
For the 30th Anniversary, we predict that Ash will return. This could be as a cameo in Pokemon Horizons, a new movie or the one we are most hopeful for, a more mature main series. This would be set less for kids and more for those who have been following his journey over the past 30 years. While we never expect swearing or anything like that, more mature themes and seeing Ash grow as a person and be a bit older would be a welcome change and potentially the perfect way to reintroduce one of the most iconic characters of all time.
4. Pokemon Gale of Darkness & Colosseum Release Dates Revealed
When the Nintendo Switch 2 launched, we were shown images of Nintendo GameCube games that would return on Nintendo Switch Online.
There are only two left from the original few that were shown: Pokemon Gale of Darkness and Pokemon Colosseum. At this point, it feels like both need to be released and soon. Luckily, some rumors suggest that the release dates for both are expected to be revealed on Pokemon Day.
It feels likely that one would be released on Pokemon Day 2026 while the other would fill the Summer 2026 content gap before we get into the big release we hope is coming near the end of 2026.

3. Completely Unleaked Pokemon Game Revealed
The leaks and rumors for Pokemon have been rampant since the Tera Leaks surfaced.
Not only have we learned more about upcoming games but even the timeline that is expected for Pokemon all the way until 2030. The beautiful thing is, Pokemon is a bit spiteful and if the Tera Leaks showed us anything, it is that they will cancel and change anything for any reason.
Our hope is that a new Pokemon game is revealed that has not been leaked. This game could potentially come from Pokemon Works or even Game Freak themselves. It might be a new Mystery Dungeon, Pokemon Conquest 2 or a truly new spin-off like Pokopia. We do not care but something new could truly get fans excited and show that they have been saving the best for the 30th Anniversary.
2. Pokemon Champions Releases
After months of rumors and speculation, this Pokemon Day, we will get Pokemon Champions.
The new VGC-only game will get launched on Pokemon Day. While we were unsure of this even just a few weeks ago, it feels like this is the perfect time for them to release their new game. Yes, Pokopia is coming out a week later, but both games can and will attract players and this will give fans an incredible 30th Anniversary experience.
Even if it is not shadow-dropped on Pokemon Day, the release date may be revealed. No matter what, this game has to come out soon and there has been so little revealed for it that Pokemon has to give us something.
1. Pokemon Gen 10 Reveal
This may be the worst-kept secret and most obvious announcement at Pokemon Day 2026 but Gen 10 will get revealed.
How much will be revealed becomes the all-important question. We believe these will be the parts of the game that are revealed.
- It will start with the region getting revealed.
- Then we will see some of the towns and older Pokemon with the new protagonists.
- After this, they will show the Professor or person who gives us the starters.
- Then the Gen 10 Starters will be revealed.
- Lastly, they will end with:
- The Box Legendaries.
- The names, likely Pokemon Wind & Wave.
- And finally, the release date or release window will almost assuredly be sometime in October or November 2026.
There is a chance they will tell us of another trailer after the reveal as well to give us more information as they have done recently.
Once all of this is over, you should expect a lot of content. Pokemon Day is just the beginning of what should be a very product-intensive 2026 for Pokemon.
