SPRINGFIELD – One of the Springfield School Department’s top leaders has been on paid leave for 22 months, ever since a now-retired superintendent called a School Committee member a “freaking scumbag” in a recorded conversation with her.
School Department officials confirm that Kimberly A. Wells, the chief of schools officer, was placed on administrative leave on June, 7, 2024, pending an investigation.
