Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) batter Abhishek Sharma had a torrid outing with the bat in the ongoing game against Delhi Capitals (DC) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The match between the two teams is taking place at the Dr YSR ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam.
Abhishek Sharma, who opened the innings for Sunrisers Hyderabad, faced the first ball of the match and charged down Mitchell Starc. However, even before he played his second ball, he had to walk back to the pavilion, thanks to the poor call of Travis Head.
On the last ball of the first over, Mitchell Starc bowled a yorker wide of off to which Travis Head looked to squeeze it through the off-side. The ball, however, deflected onto his back pad via an inside edge and he called Abhishek Sharma for a single while watching the ball.
Abhishek Sharma immediately raised his hand straightaway signalling no, but Travis Head kept running ball-watching. The India opener was very late to get going and in the end, gave up as Vipraj Nigam hit the bullseye at the keeper’s end with an under-arm throw to send the batter packing.
