Tributes have poured in for Latif Ayodele and Sina Ghami – two of Anthony Joshua’s close friends – who were killed in a car crash in Nigeria on Monday.
Joshua, who was on holiday in Nigeria following his win over Jake Paul earlier this month, escaped with minor injuries after the Lexus SUV he was travelling in hit a stationary truck along the Lagos Ibadan Expressway.
Latif ‘Latz’ Ayodele was a long-time friend of ‘AJ’ and Sina Ghami, was also a close associate and the Brit’s strength and conditioning coach.
Both men, who were also in the SUV and pronounced dead at the scene, were in Miami for his sixth round knockout of Paul 11 days ago.
Joshua was transferred to a local hospital and kept in overnight, but is in a stable condition, according to his promotional team, Matchroom Boxing.
The boxing community have been paying their respects to both men following the tragic incident.
Tyson Fury
Former heavyweight world champion and long-time rival of Joshua, Tyson Fury took to social media to pay his respects.
“This is so sad. May god give them a good bed in heaven.
“There is no tomorrow.
