Trios Titles Changes Hands on AEW Collision With Brutal Double-Team Finish

The AEW Trios Titles have new owners after The Dogs made a statement in the opening match on the April 11 AEW Collision.

David Finlay, Clark Connors, and Gabe Kidd shocked fans by defeating JetSpeed (Kevin Knight and Mike Bailey) and Mistico to capture the championships in the first match of the night.

The finish came after a hard-hitting sequence that saw Finlay set the stage for the decisive moment. He lifted Bailey into position for a vertical suplex while Connors launched himself from the middle rope and drove a spear into Bailey at the same time. With Bailey laid out, Kidd stepped in and scored the three-count to seal the victory and bring the titles to The Dogs.

This marks the first AEW Trios Championship reign for The Dogs, giving the group an immediate milestone win early into their run together.

JetSpeed and Mistico didn’t hold the titles long, but they made the most of their time as champions. Their reign lasted 24 days from the moment they won the titles until April 8, when they dropped them. During that stretch, they managed two successful title defenses, including one outside AEW in CMLL, showing the belts were being defended across promotions.

The sudden title change shakes up the Trios division and puts The Dogs right at the center of it moving forward. Winning in the opening match of the night also sent a clear message that this group isn’t wasting time establishing dominance.

Do you think The Dogs were the right choice to win the AEW Trios Titles, or should JetSpeed and Mistico have held onto the belts longer? Drop your thoughts and let us know what you think.
