Raj Dhesi’s presence at NWA’s sold-out February 21 POWERRR double TV tapings in Tampa turned heads — but he wasn’t the only familiar name backstage.
Ringside News has also learned that WWE’s Robert Stone and former longtime WWE referee Mike Chioda were also visiting during the event. While Dhesi appeared to be catching up with friends on the NWA roster, Stone and Chioda’s appearances added even more intrigue to the backstage atmosphere.
Stone, who currently works in WWE in an on-screen and backstage capacity, was in attendance visiting talent. Meanwhile, Chioda — a veteran official who spent over three decades with WWE before his 2020 release — was also seen backstage reconnecting with familiar faces.
Neither Stone nor Chioda were working the tapings in any official role, but their presence didn’t go unnoticed among talent in attendance.
The NWA event marked another packed studio taping in Tampa, with the promotion set to return on April 25 for its next round of television recordings. With multiple recognizable wrestling names visiting behind the scenes, the taping had more than just in-ring action drawing attention.
