Imran Ali Mollah and Pankaj Maandiya shared the round one lead at the DP World PGTI NexGen Phillaur Open presented by R.S. Gill on Tuesday.
The Rs 25 lakh event is being played at the Ranjitgarh Golf Club in Phillaur, the DP World PGTI said.
Imran and Pankaj shot scores of 3 under par 68 at the second event of the 2026 NexGen season.
Six players shared third place at 2 under 69 including Imran’s brother Irfan Ali Mollah, Md Muaj, Krishna Verma, Rohit Boken, Ajay and Aditya Raj Singh Chahal.
While Imran had five birdies and two bogeys in his first round, Pankaj made five birdies against a double bogey.
The 54-hole event features a field of 90 players. The top 35 and ties will make the cut at the end of round two on Wednesday.

Renowned lawyer and avid golfer R.S. Gill is the presenting partner for the Phillaur Open for the second year in succession.

The first event of the 2026 NexGen season was held in Faridabad last week and won by Abhishek Kumar of Panchkula. Abhishek now leads the 2026 DP World PGTI NexGen Order of Merit.
The winner of this year’s NexGen Order of Merit will earn an exemption on the main tour for the 2027 season.

“After the encouraging response to last year’s event, we are proud to see this tournament begin to establish itself as a meaningful platform for young professional golfers.
