UFC 326 Results: Cody Garbrandt defeats Xiao Long (Highlights)

Garbrandt (15-7 MMA) will enter the contest with hopes of snapping a two-fight losing skid. ‘No Love’ is coming off losses to Raoni Barcelos (decision) and Deiveson Figueiredo (submission) in his most recent Octagon appearances. Prior to those setbacks, Cody was coming off a knockout victory over Brian Kelleher in December of 2023.

Meanwhile, Xiao Long (27-11 MMA) most previously competed this past August, where he suffered a unanimous decision loss to Suyoung You. Prior to that defeat, the Chinese standout was coming off a knockout win over Quang Le in November of 2024.

Round one of the UFC 326 featured prelim begins and Cody Garbrandt quickly takes the center of the Octagon. He leaps in with a combination. Xiao Long replies with a low kick. ‘No Love’ with a nice outside low kick. Long looks to reply and partially connects with a high kick. Cody shoots in and then lands a knee on the break. Long continues to look for a high kick. Garbrandt with a 1-2. The Chinese fighter answers with a pair of low kicks. He attempts a right hand over the top, but Garbrandt slips it and is able to force the clinch. A big elbow from Cody lands on the break. Long appears to be ok and is now pressing forward. Cody cracks him with a kick to the ribs. ‘No Love’ with a spinning back fist that partially connects. Xiao answers with a low kick. Cody Garbrandt circles to his right and then leaps into the pocket with a 1-2. Another nice head kick from Xiao Long. Now another low kick. One minute remains in the opening round. Cody with a nice level change which allows him to score a takedown. Long immediately scrambles back to his feet but eats another elbow for his efforts. Long with a low kick. Cody fires back with a 1-2. The horn sounds to end round one.

Round two of the UFC 326 featured prelim begins and Xiao Long lands a low kick to get things started. He attempts another that misses the mark. Cody Garbrandt forces the clinch and lands a standing knee on the break. A nice front kick from ‘No Love’ connects flush to the body. Long with a low kick in return. Cody leaps in with a nice uppercut. He comes over the top with an elbow right after. Long with a good kick to the body and now one to the lead leg of the former champion. He attempts a high kick, but Cody blocks it. A low kick from the Chinese standout sends Garbrandt to the floor for a brief second. ‘No Love’ pops right back to his feet and forces the clinch along the cage. He attempts a spinning back fist, but it misses and now Long is back to range. Another takedown attempt from Cody Garbrandt but this time Xiao Long stuffs it rather easily. 90-seconds remain in round two. Cody with a calf kick. Long looks for a high kick, but it is not there. He leaps in with a flying knee that also fails to connect. Garbrandt with a knee and then just avoids a counter right hook. The fighters clash heads during a takedown attempt. We briefly pause the action and then restart only to hear the horn.

The third and final round of the UFC 326 featured prelim begins and Xiao Long is quickly back to work. He lands a low blow and the referee steps in to pause the action so that Cody can recover. We restart and Cody Garbrandt misses with a head kick attempt. Long answers with a low kick and once again it hits ‘No Love’ right in the family jewels. That was a bad one and Cody is now down and in agony. He is now puking. This is not good and likely could spell an end to the fight. Cody Garbrandt somehow is able to recover, and we are going to restart this fight. Herb Dean takes a point away from Long before the action resumes. Both men come out swinging wildly. Cody Garbrandt pushes Xiao Long against the cage. The Chinese fighter lands a knee and guess where it connects. Unreal. Another low blow. This is just crazy. Another point is deducted and we restart once again. Long likely needs a finish now. Garbrandt with a spinning back fist. Long charges forward with a right. Cody answers with a good 1-2. Xiao Long looking to force a brawl now. Cody Garbrandt with a nice combination. Long forces the clinch and lands a pair of knees before ‘No Love’ breaks free. A nice high kick partially connects for the Chinese standout. Cody looks for a takedown but can only forces the clinch against the cage. Long switches the position and lands a knee to the body. Ten seconds remain. Long with a late takedown. The horn sounds to end the fight.
