Seattle, Washington (March 26th, 2026)– The UFC Fight Night: Adesanya vs. Pyfer, also known as UFC Fight Night 271, is scheduled for Saturday, March 28, 2026, at the Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington. A five-round middleweight clash between former champion and #4-ranked Israel Adesanya, 36, (24-5) and #14-ranked Joe Pyfer, 29, (15-3).
Adesanya enters as a slight -135 to -148 favorite, while Pyfer is a +114 to +124 underdog. Despite being on a three-fight skid, Adesanya holds a massive 5-inch reach advantage and remains one of the top strikers in the UFC.
Analysts suggest Izzy must survive the early storm and exploit Pyfer’s potentially fading cardio in later rounds. He needs to maintain lateral movement to avoid being trapped against the fence, a position where Pyfer’s “heavy hands” are most dangerous.
Pyfer’s finishing ability is his primary weapon; 13 of his 15 wins have come via stoppage. Film study indicates Pyfer could find openings by timing Adesanya’s stance switches, blitzing before Izzy can plant his feet.
Pyfer averages 72.8 seconds of control time per 15 minutes compared to Adesanya’s 29.1. Adesanya’s historically elite takedown defense will be tested by Pyfer’s “fast shot” and aggressive wrestling, which he often uses to initiate clinch work against the cage.
The co-main event for this card is a women’s flyweight rematch between former champion #3 Alexa Grasso, 32, (16-5-1) and #5 Maycee Barber, 27,(15-2). Alexa Grasso is known for crisp boxing and technical grappling; she is looking for her first win since her historic 2023 victory over Valentina Shevchenko. Grasso lost her last fight to Natalie Silva in May of 2025.
Maycee Barber is on a seven-fight winning streak, showing massive improvements in her wrestling and clinch work since their first meeting. Their first fight took place at UFC 258 in February 2021, where Grasso won by unanimous decision. This time, Barber is a slight favorite on the betting odds to win this fight.
