UFC CEO Dana White revealed during the UFC 326 Pre-Fight Press Conference on Thursday that the UFC White House fight card will be announced on Saturday.
Speculation has swirled about who would headline the event and who would be featured on the fight card since its announcement last July. Many of the promotion’s biggest stars have lobbied to be part of the historic event.
Former two-division champion Jon Jones quickly came out of retirement. Fellow former two-division titleholder Conor McGregor wanted to be featured, as well as former bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley.Alex Pereira recently relinquished his light heavyweight championship leading to speculation that he may be headlining the event. Former lightweight tittle challenger Michael Chandler has stated that he’s definitely going to be competing on the White House Lawn.
The event is planned to take place on June 14 as part of America’s 250 celebration. It’s expected to be a week-long event much like International Fight Week.
