The twenty-year-old Brit, Matthew Brennan claimed his first classic victory at Kourtney-Bruxelles-Kuurne of Opening Weekend in a reduced bunch sprint minus of several headline favourites. Tudor Pro Cycling deserves mention as the Swiss squad redeemed a rough weekend in which they lost both Stefan Kung and Rick Pluimers following crashes during Saturday’s Omloop Het Nieuwsblad, on the podium with Luca Mozzato and Matteo Trentin who finished second and third respectively.
“I think we got the maximum we could have today. Unfortunately, we had to start with five guys because of all the injuries we got yesterday in several crashes. Me and Luca were the two guys who were protected out of the five.”

Faun Drome Classic: Climbers Classic
Romain Grégoire (Groupama FDJ United) has won the Faun Drome Classic in Etoile-sur-Rhone blasting away from a two-man sprint against Matteo Jorgenson while Lenny Martinez led home the next group two seconds later.
