A couple of notes on the G18s, with the draw showing two No. 14 seeds and no No. 13 seed, so I’m not sure what’s going on there. Amiya Bowles lost 6-3, 6-1 to UNC signee Anna Frey, who has the best World Tennis Number in the draw but was not seeded. I thought WTN was to be used as a basis for seeding, but it was obviously not employed here.

I won’t have an opportunity to follow the Indoors this weekend, with the IMG Championships beginning tomorrow for me with the ITF J300 Bradenton qualifying.

The boys qualifying draw is full, with Agassi Rusher the top seed. The girls qualifying draw did not fill, with 11 byes.  Brooke Wallman is the top seed in girls qualifying.

There have been no updates from today’s action at the ITF J500 in Merida Mexico, with Keaton Hance the only American left in singles after third round play yesterday. Noah Johnston and Dominick Mosejczuk are in the doubles semifinals, with partners Alan Wazny of Poland and Emanuel Ivanisevic of Croatia, respectively.  Ivanisevic, the son of Goran Ivanisevic, has committed to Wake Forest, where Mosejczuk is a freshman.

The team of Thea Frodin and Annika Penickova have reached the girls doubles semifinals.
