Lucknow Super Giants owner Sanjiv Goenka has not shied away from expressing his admiration for Vaibhav Suryavanshi. Earlier this month, he met the youngster after the game between LSG and the Rajasthan Royals and shared a heartwarming moment with him.

It was Suryavanshi’s debut game in the IPL, and the youngster hit the ground running by scoring a quickfire 34. After the game ended, Sanjiv Goenka was seen placing his palm on the young cricketer’s cheek.

The gesture was filled with warmth and emotion as the LSG owner acknowledged Suryavanshi’s impressive exploit with the bat. On Monday (April 28), Sanjiv Goenka once again expressed his admiration for the young batsman after the latter’s sensational century for the Rajasthan Royals against the Gujarat Titans.

Goenka congratulates Vaibhav

Immediately after his knock ended, Goenka took to X (formerly Twitter) to hail the knock. He posted a couple of messages on the social media website while also posting a photo of his last meeting with the youngster.

“Salute to the spirit, the confidence, the talent… the young Vaibhav Suryavanshi… wow!” wrote Goenka.

Just hours after admiring Suryavanshi’s whirlwind century and praising the youngster for it, Sanjiv Goenka was pleasantly surprised to discover that the Rajasthan Royals youngster used to support his former IPL team, Rising Pune Supergiant.

A photo of a 6-year-old Suryavanshi wearing the Rising Pune Supergiant jersey and watching an IPL game with his father went viral after his century. Goenka saw the photo on Tuesday (April 29) and did not take long to react.

Taking to X, he thanked Suryavanshi for supporting his former team, writing: “Last night I watched in awe… this morning I came across this photo of 6-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi cheering for my then team, Rising Pune Supergiant, in 2017.

“Thanks, Vaibhav. Lots of good wishes and support,” he added.

Meanwhile, the Royals thrashed the Titans by 8 wickets to return to winning ways and end their 5-match losing streak. Chasing 210 runs, the Royals chased down the total inside 16 overs to register a much-needed win. They will be facing the Mumbai Indians next on May 1.
