Vani Kapoor, winner of the 2025 Hero Order of Merit, tied Tvesa Malik for the 36-hole lead in Poona Club Golf Course leg of the Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour on Wednesday.
Round one co-leader Ridhima Dilawari, who started the day alongside Tvesa, slipped to tied third with a 1 over 71 at the Rs 17 lakh event, the WGAI said.
The round of the day came from former Hero Order of Merit winner Sneha Singh, who had a bogey free 67 with four birdies between holes nine and 13.
Sneha, who shot 73 on the first day, is now tied third with Ridhima.
Vani went birdie-bogey twice on the front nine before a birdie on nine saw her turn in 1 under 34.
She would one birdie (on 11) against a further dropped shot (on 14) to round off a card of 70.
Oxford Golf Resort leg winner Tvesa opened with a birdie before six straight pars and a double bogey saw her finish the front nine at 1 over.
Solid finish
Birdies on holes 11, 14 and 16 against bogeys on 15 and 17 saw her finish at level par.
Neha Tripathi (70), amateur Lavanya Gupta (73) and Anuradha Chaudhuri (75) were tied for fifth on 3 over 145, while Jasmine Shekar (74) was sole eighth.
Nayanika Sanga (70), Jahanvi Bakshi (71), Lavanya Jadon (73), Vidhatri Urs (75) and Durga Nittur (75) were tied for ninth at 148.
The cut fell at 156 with 32 from a starting field of 49 making Thursday’s final round.
Vani, Tvesa and Sneha will battle it out in the lead group on the final day, while Ridhima will be in the second from last group with Neha and Lavanya Gupta.
