Verstappen Racing has confirmed that it will compete in both NLS2 and the 2026 Nürburgring 24 Hours, marking a major step in the team’s long‑term ambition to establish itself as a serious contender in endurance racing.
The announcement reflects Max Verstappen’s deep passion for motorsport and his desire to take on new challenges beyond his Formula 1 commitments.
The team introduced its new Red Bull‑themed Mercedes‑AMG livery through a spectacular and unconventional reveal. German athlete Max Manow performed a 131‑metre B.A.S.E. jump into the cooling tower in Meppen, unveiling the striking colours of the Mercedes‑AMG Team Verstappen Racing car in a dramatic moment that immediately captured widespread attention.
Fans will be able to follow the team’s journey toward the legendary 24‑hour race, as the full event will be broadcast live in May on Red Bull TV and the Red Bull Motorsports YouTube channel.
In preparation for the main event, Verstappen Racing will participate in several key races, including NLS1, NLS2, and the 24h Nürburgring Qualifiers. The car will run with the number 3 and will be driven by a strong and experienced line‑up consisting of Max Verstappen, Dani Juncadella, Jules Gounon, and Lucas Auer.
Verstappen is scheduled to make his first appearance of the season at NLS2 on 21 March. He will use the event as essential preparation for the 24‑hour race while continuing to compete in the Formula 1 World Championship.
Reflecting on the announcement, Max Verstappen expressed his excitement about finally taking on one of motorsport’s most demanding events.
The Dutchman explained that the Nürburgring holds a unique place in his heart and that the 24‑hour race has long been on his personal bucket list.
The four-time F1 world champion also highlighted the value of his experience in NLS9 the previous year, where he earned his DMSB Permit Nordschleife and took victory with the team. According to Verstappen, the lessons learned from that race will play an important role in preparing for this year’s program.
Verstappen emphasized the strength of the driver line‑up and the support from Red Bull and Mercedes‑AMG Motorsport. He noted that the team’s focus now shifts to thorough preparation in order to maximize performance in every event leading up to the 24‑hour race.
