Musheer Khan’s “strong mindset” has been praised by former India wicketkeeper Vijay Dahiya, who also predicted that if the young batsman continues to be reliable, he will be a valuable member of the Indian side in the future.
Musheer won the Duleep Trophy in Bengaluru on Friday, impressing everyone with a heroic eighty-one against India A.
His effort helped India B recover from a dangerous 94 for seven to record 321 in the first innings. He also shared a 205-run partnership for the eighth wicket with Navdeep Saini.
Musheer is unique because of his powerful mentality. I can’t foretell the future, but if he continues to score runs reliably, Dahiya told PTI videos that he would be a great alternative for the Indian squad.
Dahiya was amazed at Musheer’s dependability.
His consistency at bat is what makes him stand out. He picked up where he left off in the previous season. He hit a century on the first day of domestic cricket in 2024, in addition to runs in the Ranji Trophy semifinal and final, according to Dahiya.
“Agar aap mehnat se kisi cheez ke peeche pad jaaye, shiddat se kisi cheez ke peeche pad jaaye to wo zarur milti hai (if you work hard for something, you will get it eventually),” said Musher, who began his career as a left-arm spinner before switching to batting.
In the current Delhi Premier League, Dahiya is the head coach of Purani Dilli 6. He noted that young players in the league may learn from older players like Rishabh Pant and Ishant Sharma.
“Rishabh Pant only participated in one match, but the time he spent in the hotel and during practice inspired the boys.”
“Ishant spent time with all of the guys and participated in every practice. Sadly, he was unable to play because of an injury,” he stated.
“Every male gave Rishabh and Ishant acclaim because they never allowed them to feel less than them. Rather, it made them feel like they belonged, which eased their anxiety,” he continued.
