Vince Russo isn’t planning to jump ship anytime soon — even if AEW came calling with a major offer.
During his recent stream, Russo was asked directly what he would do if AEW President Tony Khan offered him the top creative job. The question put him on the spot about whether he would leave his current role with JCW, but Russo didn’t hesitate with his response.
“TK makes you head of AEW creative. Will you take it?”
Russo immediately made it clear that leaving JCW for AEW isn’t something he sees happening. He stressed that he’s happy where he is and has no interest in walking away from the work he’s doing now.
“First of all, that will never happen… Second of all, I love JCW, man. I love it. I love it. I love it.”
He went on to explain that his connection to JCW goes beyond just having a job there. Russo described the company as his home and spoke highly about working alongside Violent J, crediting him as one of the most creative minds he’s worked with in wrestling.
“JCW is my home, bro. Getting to work with a creative mind like Violent Jay is unbelievable.”
While Russo made it clear he has no plans to leave, he did admit that one part of the job has become tougher over time — the travel. At 65 years old, he acknowledged that being on the road isn’t as easy as it once was, even though he still enjoys the creative side of the business.
“The only thing that sucks about JCW for me is the travel… I’m 65. I don’t get around like I used to. I get tired more often. The travel is tough.”
Even with that challenge, Russo still left the door open to possibly offering advice to Tony Khan if asked, though he made it clear that joining AEW isn’t his goal.
“If it ever got to a point where Tony Khan ever wanted to get my opinion or my view of something, I would gladly give it to him.”
Russo’s comments paint a clear picture — he’s not chasing a new job or looking to move promotions. Instead, he seems focused on continuing his work with JCW and building what he believes is a strong creative environment there. Still, the idea of AEW reaching out remains an interesting scenario that fans will likely keep talking about.
