Vince Russo Goes Scorched Earth on Seth Rollins for Calling Him a “Hanger-On” and “Idiot”

Vince Russo Goes Scorched Earth on Seth Rollins for Calling Him a “Hanger-On” and “Idiot”

Vince Russo is clapping back—hard—after Seth Rollins tore into him during a recent podcast appearance, calling him a “hanger-on” and straight-up saying “I hate them both” when asked to choose sides between Russo and Jim Cornette.

Rollins made his stance clear during a guest spot on Mohr Stories with Jay Mohr, trashing both men but siding with Cornette if forced to pick.

“So, I hate them both. I think they’re both jackasses. But if you had to pick—if you were like, gun to your head—[…] I’ve hung out with Cornette… he was fine. […] He’s just a victim of the hot-take culture.”

But then Rollins dropped the real hammer as he said he’d still choose Jim Cornette since Cornette hates Russo with a passion.

“They’re both idiots. But if I had to pick one, it’d be Cornette. He hates Vince Russo with a passion. […] That guy’s an idiot.”

That was all Russo needed to hear. Russo took to Twitter and called out Rollins directly for the “hate,” questioning how someone who has never even met him could speak with such contempt.

“Seth Rollins ‘hates’ a guy that he actually never even met, or even had a conversation with… That equates to—@WWERollins doesn’t know me. So then WHY the hate?”

Russo speculated that Rollins’ resentment may stem from his past analysis, particularly criticisms about Rollins’ in-ring psychology and character work.

“While there is no question that Seth is a Great Athlete, I have always questioned Seth being a Great ‘Worker.’ Why? Simply because I have witnessed dozens of Seth’s matches over the years where he fails to SELL. In my book, being a Great Worker means you know how to Sell.”

Russo also took issue with Rollins continuing to encourage fan chants after turning heel, saying it goes against basic wrestling character logic.

“When Seth turned ‘Heel,’ [he] still went out there and literally CONDUCT[ED] the fans as they sang along to his song. Is that what a ‘Heel’ would do?”

The former WWE, WCW, and TNA writer even mentioned his long-standing criticism of Triple H, calling him “not a writer” and claiming WWE’s recent viewership numbers support his case.

“I’ve said to NAUSEAM that his ‘Mentor’ (thus, Seth being his ‘Boy’), @TripleH is NOT A WRITER… SmackDown just did under a MILLION VIEWERS for the third time. That’s Proof enough.”

Russo rejected the notion that he’s a “hanger-on” in the wrestling world and invited Rollins to watch his YouTube channel if he wants to actually learn about storytelling and what being a heel really means.

“Seth—if you want to learn anything about being a character, storylines, what exactly a ‘heel’ is and yes, even SELLING—you can tune into @jcwlunacy every Thursday Night on YouTube.”

And of course, Russo couldn’t resist one last swing at The Visionary and Triple H:

“Maybe you can even have a sleepover with @TripleH—wouldn’t hurt him to learn a thing or two either.”

Vince Russo clearly took Seth Rollins’ podcast comments personally—and now he’s not just defending his legacy, he’s offering unsolicited lessons in wrestling psychology. Whether Rollins responds remains to be seen, but one thing is certain: Russo isn’t backing down anytime soon.

Do you think Seth Rollins crossed a line with his comments, or was Vince Russo’s response over the top? Drop your take below and let us know who you’re siding with.
