Virat Kohli picks this Star as the most gifted Cricketer he has played and it’s not Rohit Sharma

Cricket star Virat Kohli chose former South African player Ab de Villiers as the most talented cricketer he has played with, even over Indian team captain Rohit Sharma and legend Sachin Tendulkar. Kohli, who has been part of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the IPL since the beginning, shared the team’s locker room with Ab de Villiers from 2011 to 2021.

In a message for Ab de Villiers after he was added to the ICC Hall of Fame on October 16, Virat wrote, “You truly deserve this honor—after all, the Hall of Fame shows how much you’ve influenced the game, and your impact has been truly special.”

“People have always talked about your skills, and they’re right to do so. You are the most talented cricketer I’ve played with, the best by far,” he said.

De Villiers, who is 40 years old and retired from international cricket in 2018, ended his career with 8765 runs in 114 Test matches, 9577 runs in 228 One Day Internationals (ODIs), and 1672 runs in 78 T20 Internationals.

In the Indian Premier League (IPL), besides playing for RCB, he also played for the Delhi Capitals and finished with 5162 runs in 184 matches.

De Villiers holds the record for the fastest century in One Day Internationals (ODIs). He took just 31 balls to reach 100 runs against the West Indies in a match in Johannesburg on January 18, 2015. During the 2015 ODI World Cup match against the West Indies in Sydney on February 27, 2015, he also set the record for the fastest 150 in the 50-over format.

He was the captain of South Africa in the 2015 ICC Men’s ODI World Cup and led them to their first-ever knockout win in World Cup history by defeating Sri Lanka by nine wickets in the first quarterfinal on March 18 in Sydney. However, South Africa did not win the title and was eliminated from the tournament after losing the first semifinal against co-hosts New Zealand in Auckland.
