Virat Kohli’s Jersey Tops Auction at 40 Lakhs for Vipla Foundation

Cricket is much more than just a sport in India. It was proved once again. Indian cricketer KL Rahul and his wife Athiya Shetty announced a charity to help an organization called Vipla Foundation. On this noble initiative of the celebrity couple, the cricket fraternity stood by them. From Virat Kohli to former coach Rahul Dravid, everybody shared their cricket gear to raise a fund. In the auction, Virat Kohli’s jersey has been sold for 40 lakhs, highlighting its significant value and fan appeal.

Rahul-Athiya’s Noble Initiative:

Athiya Shetty and  KL Rahul teamed with top cricket stars to support the Vipla Foundation, previously known as Save The Children India. This supports hearing-impaired and intellectually disabled children through the Vipla Foundation.

The couple had rallied a star-studded group for this cause, including Rahul Dravid, MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Jasprit Bumrah, Ravichandran Ashwin, Shreyas Iyer, Yuzvendra Chahal, Rishabh Pant, Sanju Samson, Ravindra Jadeja, and the Lucknow Super Giants. International players such as Jos Buttler, Quinton de Kock, Marcus Stoinis, and Nicholas Pooran were also involved.

Virat Kohli’s Jersey Got the Highest Price:

Many top international players donated their memorabilia for the auction, which raised a total of 1.93 Crore. This demonstrates the positive impact cricketers can have on society when they use their influence for good causes. Virat Kohli’s jersey sold for 40 Lakhs and it was the most expensive buy of this auction.

His gloves went for 28 Lakhs. Rohit Sharma’s bat fetched 24 Lakhs. MS Dhoni’s bat was sold for 13 Lakhs, while Rahul Dravid’s bat and KL Rahul’s jersey each sold for 11 Lakhs. This fundraising effort highlights how cricketers can make significant contributions through their collectibles.

After a successful auction, KL Rahul thanked everyone. He said, “Our auction was a big success, and with these proceeds, we aim to enrich the lives of many special children.
