VVS Laxman going to lead Indian team for South Africa tour

Former Indian middle-order batter, VVS Laxman, is now going to give his time and serve as the head coach of Indian team for the four-match T20I series against South Africa in November 2024.

According to a report in Cricbuzz, Laxman will come in to fill for the vacant space of Gautam Gambhir, since he will be travelling to Australia with the other Indian team for the five-match Test series.

The decision for the appointment of Laxman as the head coach for the series was confirmed to Cricbuzz by a BCCI official.

The Indian men’s cricket team is set to travel to South Africa next month for the short format series, which is going to begin from November 8. The next three matches will take place on November 10, 13, and 15, respectively.

India’s squad for the T20I series:

Suryakumar Yadav (C), Abhishek Sharma, Sanju Samson (WK), Rinku Singh, Tilak Varma, Jitesh Sharma (WK), Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Ramandeep Singh, Varun Chakaravarthy, Ravi Bishnoi, Arshdeep Singh, Vijaykumar Vyshak, Avesh Khan, Yash Dayal.
