The Indian cricket team, triumphant from their T20 World Cup win, has finally landed in Delhi. The celebrations will kick off with a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Following this, the team will make their way to Mumbai for an open bus parade through Marine Drive to the Wankhede Stadium.

After the parade, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has organized a grand function at the Wankhede Stadium. Here, the team will receive a prize money of 125 crores as a token of the nation’s pride in their achievement. India clinched the T20 World Cup title after a thrilling 7-run victory over South Africa in Barbados.
Public Participation in Mumbai Parade
Mumbai Cricket Association Secretary Ajinkya Naik announced that the public will have free entry to the victory parade on a ‘first come, first serve’ basis. “MCA has made preparations for the public. Under the guidance of Mumbai Police and BCCI we are going to give free entry to the public on a first come, first preference basis,” Naik told news agency ANI. “We had a meeting with Mumbai Police yesterday. MCA has kept the maximum police force. It is a proud moment for MCA and the country, and we are very excited to welcome the Indian team today,” he added.
Challenges En Route
India’s win has sparked widespread jubilation across the country, but the journey home was not without its challenges. The team was briefly stranded as international flights were canceled due to Hurricane Beryl. Despite this, the Men in Blue, along with their support staff and media personnel, have made their way back into the country.
