The Champions Cup domestic tournament is being played by five teams, and the Pakistan Cricket Board announced on Monday that Misbah-ul-Haq, Saqlain Mushtaq, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Shoaib Malik, and Waqar Younis will be teaching the teams.

After a thorough and transparent recruitment procedure, the top players in Pakistani cricket have been named mentors on three-year contracts, the PCB announced.

Former head coach of the national team Saqlain Mushtaq was replaced by Waqar Younis, who most recently served as PCB advisor on cricket issues. Also serving as national team coaches were Misbah and Waqar.

The PCB announced that the Champions One-Day Cup, which takes place in Faisalabad from September 12–29, will be the mentors’ first job for the PCB Domestic Cricket Season 2024–25.

All of the best players are required by the PCB to participate in the 50-overs competition.
