Wasim Akram, Kohli’s Name Already Etched in Cricket History

Legendary cricketer Wasim Akram praised Virat Kohli, saying the Indian batsman has already solidified his status as one of the game’s greatest players. Known for his ferocious fast bowling and keen cricketing sense, Akram feels that Kohli has had an indisputable influence on the game.

Legendary Pakistani cricketer Wasim Akram is frequently regarded as one of the all-time great fast bowlers. His outstanding swing bowling earned him the moniker “The Sultan of Swing.” Throughout his career, Akram set a number of records and made history by becoming the first bowler to 500 wickets in One Day Internationals (ODIs). Following his playing career, he has also worked as a coach and pundit.

In that Interview Wasim chose Kohli and said “Babar Azam is on the right track, he’s the one of the greatest modern players but Virat Kohli has already written his name as the greatest of the game in the history book.”

Virat Kohli is likewise unbeatable in Test cricket, having amassed over 8,000 runs and setting a record for the fastest 7000 runs in one of the longest forms. Also, Virat Kohli criticized the 29 century and the 30 fifties. Next is Babar Azam, who during his career in international test cricket hit nine tons and twenty-six fifties. Azam holds the record with the highest score of 196, whereas Kohli’s test cricket career included 254 runs without a loss.     

It appears that the ODI records only compare Virat Kohli and Babar Azam in certain areas. Virat had already played in more than 150 One Day International cricket matches and scored more than 20 hundreds when Babar made his debut for the Pakistan cricket squad. Kolhi is among the six batsmen who have amassed over 12,000 runs in one-day international cricket. Furthermore, for more than three and a half years, Virat Kohli holds the distinction for being the third batter with the longest streak of consecutive no. 1 ODI rankings in the ICC.

Then, in just 47 matches, Babar Azam gets the fastest 2,000 ODI runs. The batsman who has scored the most ODI hundreds—7, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, and 18—is Babar.
