Milestone’s unique racing game is a month away – before then, you can get a sense of its story.
You don’t get many racing games like Screamer in the current age. It’s not a live-service, always-online platform. It’s not a sim racing title. Neither is it an indie game.
It’s a full-fat major release on PC and consoles, with a clear vision and premium production values, on top of which, it has a unique visual style.

A scripted story is also a central feature, and it would seem lots of resource has been ploughed into the narrative – from the sweary Irish character, to the 16+ age rating, cut scenes and vehicles that match their attributed characters.
When we tested an early build at Gamescom last year, we called it a “cross between Ridge Racer and Street Fighter”, thanks to its distinctive driving and ‘fighting’ mechanics.
Now you can see why we thought that, and experience parts of the story, with a half-hour of gameplay and progression, viewable on YouTube thanks to IGN.
Created by Milestone, Screamer will release on 26th March 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with a multitude of editions.
