Watch- Devon Conway smashes his helmet and bat after being retired out; CSK exit on the cards?

Devon Conway had a disappointing end to his knock during the game between Chennai Super Kings and Punjab Kings in the ongoing IPL 2025. The New Zealand star became the second batter to be retired out this season as he struggled to play the big shots.

It was his second game of the season, and he kept CSK in the hunt with two big stands while the five-time champions were chasing 220 runs. The southpaw shared a 61-run stand with his compatriot Rachin Ravindra for the first wicket.

CSK lost to Punjab Kings away from home

After captain Ruturaj Gaikwad was dismissed for just 1, Devon Conway and Shivam Dube steadied the ship with an 89-run stand. However, the New Zealand star struggled to up the ante even after completing his fifty as the required run-rate kept mounting.

He could make only 19 off 12 balls after his fifty when CSK decided to retire him out in the 18th over. The Chennai-based outfit needed 49 runs off just 13 balls at that stage and decided to bring in Ravindra Jadeja for Conway. The move, however, did not yield the desired result as CSK finished their innings on 201/5 and lost the game by 18 runs.

Devon Conway loses his cool:

A new video that is doing the rounds on social media shows Devon Conway losing his cool after being retired out. He was unaware of the decision even after Jadeja had already stepped inside the field. Conway finally realised that he had to walk off the field when he was told by the umpire about it.

While the New Zealand star was courteous enough to offer a fist bump to Jadeja, the emotions got the better of him once he was near the dugout. He looked disappointed and did not shy away from venting his frustration.

Devon Conway was seen throwing away his bat and helmet, and also seemingly declined to talk to his teammates.
