[WATCH] KL Rahul falls to a horrendous leave on middle-stump in India A match against Australia A

KL Rahul was sent to Australia prior to the other India team members in a bid to get some game time ahead of the Border Gavaskar Trophy.

Dynamic right-hander KL Rahul suffered a horrendous dismissal during the ongoing second unofficial Test between Australia A and India A.

KL Rahul, who was sent to Australia prior to the other India team members in a bid to get some game time ahead of the upcoming Border Gavaskar Trophy, had a horror outing.

During India A’s second innings, KL Rahul made a brain fade leave off a Corey Rocchiccioli delivery as the ball went straight through and hit the middle stumps.

Rahul is expected to be one of the frontrunners to replace Rohit Sharma in the series opener against Australia, who will be missing the game due to the birth of his second child. However, Rahul was a subpar show, managing scores of 4 and 10 in the first and second innings respectively.

KL Rahul’s form has been a pressing concern

Rahul’s form has become a cause of concern for the Indian Test team as he was recently dropped for the last two Tests vs New Zealand with Sarfaraz Khan replacing him.

Since 2022, Rahul has scored 514 runs in Tests from 12 matches (21 innings) at an average of 25.7 having registered three half centuries and a century. The 32-year-old has got the support of the India head coach Gautam Gambhir who’s backed him to the hilt.

Australia A replied with 223 in the first innings as Marcus Harris top scored with 74 and helped his team get a 62-run lead. In the second innings, India A were once again left reeling at 73/5 after 31 overs with Dhruv Jurel (19*) and Nitish Kumar Reddy (9*) at the crease on Day 2
